> The symptoms have changed. Up until the last few years (except for one summer), my depressions were more anxious and I had panic attacks at times. Now they're more anergic. I don't know if that's totally a function of adrenal fatigue or just coincidental. If it weren't for that one summer I had early on that was also anergic, I'd be more inclined to say that the adrenal fatigue is definitely responsible. I'm not as worried about panic attacks now. I don't know that my body could muster that kind of response presently. The lethargy is horrible though. I really envy those people who have a ton of energy and motivation. It would be nice to be able to concentrate and easily earn a living too. I imagine you understand what I'm saying! >>

I would accept the theory that your early depressions were so anxious that they depleted your adrenals, leading to adrenal fatigue-but why hasn't that happened to me? (Allow me my moment of self-pity. I'm not feeling well.) Seriously, it is possible that that is what happened. Alternatively, you might have adapted to the anxiety- 'habituated' is the word psychologists like to use- and, as you say, the adrenal fatigue came along as a coincidence. In that case, I suppose the supplement route that Larry would recommend would be best, maybe accompanied by a low dose of a non-stimulating AD. Is adrenal fatigue considered a possible cause of a type of depression, or of a depression-like reaction? Sorry, not thinking clearly, but I'm trying to get at a distinction. (It's a no-go right now. not feeling well.)

z,

I'm so sorry you're going through such a rough time. Don't worry about getting back to me at all. I would understand completely if you never got back to me. I wish there were something more I could do. You were finally getting your meds in balance and now this throws a wrench into the whole thing...

I don't know why the adrenal fatigue hasn't happened to you. I'm not even positive that it has happened to me or that it's definitely a syndrome. I'm inclined to think that it is, though. But I am about 15 years older than you are so I've had a lot more time to stress my adrenal glands. I'm still trying to figure out the relationship with adrenal fatigue and depression although there is the adrenaline/norepinephrine link.

> About the envy of those with energy, I agree 100 percent. It is like I am famished for energy and others are feasting away, not thinking that what they have is anything special, but it boggles my mind to watch them. (I should feel better when my stomach settles down.)
>

Oh, I know. I find it's even worse when those who have the energy judge you because you don't. That's the point that I find it intolerable.

Hang in there. I'm sure things will settle down soon. They always do, right?

Kara
