Certain family members haven't been told. My close friends have. And they know when things get hairy. By and large they are very sweet. There have only been a couple of instances where someone indicated that they believe medication is overprescribed or otherwise been unhelpful. And even those people weren't really mean about it, just clueless.
Some of my friends are card-carrying members of the club. If you tell people whom you trust, you just might find out that some of them are in the same boat.
