It hasn't completely stopped working, but I seem to be needing to increase it more and more often. The first year or so it was great. It was probably around the second year that I must have passed my effective threshold. Am not at 300 mg for past few months and already needing an increase but my dr (and I) don't want to go any higher that 300mg. I really can't say too many negative things about Effexor, except for when it's time to stop. It gave me back my zest for life for three years. Just be aware that it's not something that you can just stop taking anytime you want (unless you are one of the RARE lucky ones). There are very uncomfortable withdrawal side-effects.
