hello there, chemist here....i am taking the liberty of asking for a consult here. zyprexa is an atypical antipsychotic used off-label for mood stabilization. many people report success in that department, although there are side-effects that are almost universally reviled and unavoidable with this drug, weight-gain being the most prominent. your 5 mg qd dose is about the lowest, although the 2.5 mg tabs are available. i would expect it to be mildly sedating for you and that the side-effects - most common at higher doses - would be minimal. however, please do get the input of other posters, in that i have not taken this drug, and can give you the quick-and-dirty, as above. you might want to repost with a bit more info in re: your diagnosis, as that will help the others make some more helpful statements....all the best, chemist
