> why do you think i shouldnt try effexor again? and what kind of meds are anxiolytics?**** my comments about effexor were reflective - i thought - of your anxiety. if i recall, you had a good run of it, but there was still some anxiety. if i am incorrect, i apologize and if effexor was a winner for you, by all means, do try it again. however, you note your doctor will not prescribe SSRIs again for you: effexor is a second-generation variation of the SSRI theme, and inhibits reuptake of some other chemicals in addition to serotonin. i mention this in case your doctor will not prescribe it again.....*****

> I have severe anxiety panick attacks dempression cus of this and social phobia .... i am constanlty obsessing over my hrt and when i take most meds they affect my heart and i dont like the feeling.. i aint even panicking over it so it must be the meds..***** well, i empathize with you, especially in re: panic attacks. however, you do have on-hand meds that will address this issue at least in part, if not in full, namely valium and inderal. the combination of these two should be calming for you. i am aware that some people have paradoxical reactions to all kinds of medications, and perhaps you are one of them when it comes to benzodiazepines: i just do not know, and would expect your doctor would be able to address this, if it is indeed the case. and finally, anxiolytics are drugs that reduce anxiety: this includes alcohol, drugs such as valium and xanax, and is also used descriptively in cases where, for example, a drug reduces depression and anxiety at the same time. be well, chemist ******
