My experience with Zonegran wasn't a good one either. It may or may not be good for anxiety. It didn't make mine any worse. However, I was taking it for bipolar depression, and I recieved no benefit from it. I did experience, however, a profound fatigue that began in the second week and lasted through the fifth when I decided to discontinue it.If your doctor has had success with it, it might be worth a try. People's reactions to drugs can be so variable. I don't know if I am the rule or the exception to it. The one major concern with zonisamide is the potential for an allergic reaction. It is contraindicated in people who have demonstrated sensitivity to sulfonamide sulfa drugs.
