Lithobid, Eskalith - same thing?

Hi,
I'm confused about Lithobid and Eskalith. I had been taking 300 mg. Lithobid, and my pdoc wants me to increase to 900 mg., so he gave me samples of Eskalith. He said it was the same thing as Lithobid, but a different dose (450 mg).
I just wanted to see if anyone else has taken these two meds, and if they are indeed the same med with the same effect, etc.
