In reply to effexor for bipolar?, posted by 4mygrls on May 29, 2004, at 16:16:40

I wouldn't recommend it. Effexor has been known to induce manic states even in those without BP. It made me manic. I am BP2. At first it was great. I felt euphoric. Better than ever. But then the spending sprees.......Very irritable and edgy and little sleep......

You might be able to get away with Effexor AND a MS for bipolar but not Effexor alone.

Good luck
