effexor xr users...question?

I have only used ssri's in the past . I'm on week 4 of effexor xr at 187.5 titrated up from 75 mg.
I'm still not feeling all that well the doc wants me up too 225. Is effexor slower acting? I feel a little relief but still want to just sit around the house and my anxiety is still to high.
anyone relate?
