I am currently on Effexor XR. It has been just over 3 weeks that I have been on the meds. I have only found myself to be happy, no aggression. I did experience side effects when I started, and still am experiencing some. Initially (for about a week and a half) I had dry mouth, chills, clouded thinking, and insomnia. I am still experiencing the insomnia and am now experiencing anorgasma as well. Other than these two things I do feel great though. I am happy with lessened anxiety.

I addressed the withdrawal that I have been reading about on this site with my dr and she said that as long as you take it really slowly it should be tolerable. I'm not so sure after reading about SO many people having problems coming off. She also did say that the drug is non-habit forming, which is good to know.

I don't know if this helps any. I feel a bit unsure of what to do as well.
