it's both as needed and a kind of drug that you need time to see its theraputic effects if you are taking it as an adjunct for depression or just for general energy/fatigue issues because you really have to get acquainted with it, so eventually it will work but will be virtually unnoticeable. That way it won't be an annoying on/off switch situation where you have to worry about peak effects and crashes like with amphetamines.

All the side effects subside as well as any wired feelings within a month.

It's a great drug, and I think it has great antidepressant qualities.

The drawbacks are optimizing the dosage because lots of people end up trying too much right off the bat.

It's hard to tell if and when it's working unless you are concentrating on some kind of work or it's late at night. After the first week or two, your body shouldn't be so turned on by it in a self-conscious way. It does have euphoric effects at first for those who are not used to stimulants or have not used them in a while, but they disappear sooner or later.

Those people who are used to dexedrine, adderal, ritalin sometimes find it rather weak as far as overall value, but that feeling is usually from ADHD people.

I am also am on other meds, so my experiences may be a little different.

I had to lower one drug because Provigil increased it's concentrations.

I was told to take as needed as well, and it does help as long as you realize the peak is at about 2-4 hours. If your body is really tired then you may very well fall asleep or just not have the bost you need though you may wake up a little fresher than you would have.

The half life is longer than typical stims, and the decline is not harsh at all after the peak.

good luck!
