when i was on the generic, pink capsule lithium, the side effects were really bad. i felt nauseated all the time, especially while taking the pills, and i threw up a lot. i got dizzy and had tremors. one time when my lithium level got too high, i passed out and ended up in the hospital with a concussion.
i'm on lithium again now, and i'm doing much better. i'm on eskalith cr, brand-name controlled release lithium, and it's much better for me. it doesn't make me sick, and i hardly feel like i'm on lithium. the only problem i have is the tremors, especially in my hands. to counter this, i take inderal, a beta-blocker.
good luck!
