I have never heard anything like this, not that that proves very much. I would think that ECT would, if anything, render you more likely to respond to medication, not less. Unfortunately, so little is understood about the brain, that it is impossible to give any guarantees. However, if I were to face the decision as to whether or not to try ECT, I wouldn't place much importance on this concern.
