Augmenting with Thyroxine?

Posted by Sad Panda on April 7, 2004, at 10:46:13

Hi All,

Saw my doctor today & got the results of my blood tests. Eveything is nearly normal except my glucose is at the high limit, so I am getting a glucose tolerance test. Other thing is my TSH is on the upper end of the scale, so I was wondering had anyone taken Thyroxine?

I have just spent the last 4 weeks trying to tolerate 300mg of Effexor XR, but I can't, so I am back to 225mg with 30mg of Remeron. 300mg made it easier to get up & get around, but it started to erode my mind & it pushed my BP up from 120/80 to 130/90.

If anyone has taken Thyroxine for depression, how much did it increase your heart rate & BP?

All advice appreciated in advance. :)

Cheers,
Panda.
