I've switched to the Xanax XR. I was stupid enough to go, "Isn't the conversion from Klonopin to Xanax the same dose?" After my doc said, "Xanax is ussually 1/2 as potent, so let's try 6mg" So I talked him down to 3mg of Xanax XR. Had the worst anxiety ever these past few weeks. Not nearly as helpful as Klonopin at 3mg/day divided by 3 doses.

I don't get Xanax. Maybe for anxiety, but it seemed to give my blood a weird effect. With alcohol (and my max is 1-2 drinks, I'm a lightweight and have had to accept this while I remain in college) I get all red in my face.

That seems to tell me it can't handle drug interactions blood-wise like Klonopin could. I could take quite a few drinks on Klonopin, and if anything, it would just balance me out from being too overly talkative to being moderately over-talkative while on alcohol. (Klonopin alone= no drive to talk even when you want to, which can be good unless you are at a party).

So I'm suprised... I think Xanax and Nardil aren't a good mix. Klonopin seems to have fewer interactions for me. I've never tried Nardil.
