> 1) the illness called TRICH**** (i dont know how to spell) does this relate to also eyebrows and other body hair? and i read it has to do with cuticles as well? is this related to ocd?-
Trichotillomania is, I believe, related to OCD... that's really all I know about it, though.
> 2) my therapist said for me to quit coming to this website, because it is a cause of anxiety? i was wondering if others have heard this same thing?
My therapist encouraged coming to this site. I highly doubt it's words on a computer monitor that are causing you anxiety.
> 3) if possible in the clearest way possible explain how to figure out what the chemical properties of a drug actually do?? i dont know if this makes sense. i read a post where someone said klonopin (which is what i am prescribed for gad) was made of 3 hydroxy benzodiazepine-BZD agonist-5 HT increase? so knowing this how do i know what these things do.
What that post meant was that Klonopin belongs to the chemical class of "3-hydroxy-benzodiazepines". "BZD agonist" means that it agonizes benzodiazepine receptors in the brain (i.e. binds to them and activates them). 5-HT is shorthand for 5-hydroxytryptophan, aka serotonin. So that means Klonopin increases serotonin levels/activity.
> 4)ess. fatty acid supplements, liquid vitamins, flax seed are all supplements i use, for health reasons and now im seeing ppl use these as mental health alternatives. am considering use of 5 ht?
> is that safe with klonopin and what would i achieve by adding this?No interactions between 5-HTP and Klonopin, though I'd personally recommend l-tryptophan in place of 5-HTP. They both achieve the same thing in the brain (they are transformed into serotonin), but l-tryptophan seems to be more effective.
> thank in advance...
