Adding another drug to Lamictal for anxiety

I posted before about just being put on Lamictal for mood swings - bipolar and borderline personality (last week and the doc is starting me off really slow building the dosage), but my anxiety is horrible. I am irritaed and annoyed ALL the time, and am just wondering what other meds (possible SSRIs) go good with Lamictal to help this? I was on Xanax for a long time and it was all that worked, but became addicted so now my doc won't prescribe.
