Neurontin and Magnesium(?)

Posted by SandyWeb on December 10, 2003, at 7:43:29

Neurontin is not supposed to be taken with antacids. It's because of some ingredient in the antacids, and I can't remember if it's magnesium or not. Does anyone know? I know that it's because the ingredient will compete for the receptor sites, and thus bump the Neurontin out.

If the ingredient is magnesium, does anyone know if it is okay to take a multivitiam with magnesium in it? I've been taking a vitamin that has 50 mg of magnesium in it. Is that a small enough amount to not really interfere with the Neurontin, or should I be looking for another vitamin?

Thanks so much!
