> i've been feeling for the past few weeks like i'm having a bit of lexapro poop-out as well. it was working great for about 6-7 months, but my symptoms of anxiety and depression, as well as the migraines i was getting before i started lex, have started to return. i'm feeling like i'm going back into that hole, losing motivation to do anything, and just feeling like i want to sleep all the time. anyone else out there besides sara beth experiencing this too?

my doctor elected to stick with the lex because of its lower side effects, ultimately it was determined that I should be on a mood stabilizing agent in addition to the lex; however that had to be changed b/c it pooped out. I still feel like the lex is not that effective but doctor says the symptoms would be worse if I were off it.
Anyhow, I understand where you are coming from about the lex. I feel like a lot of docs, perhaps mistakenly, view it as a wonder drug. However, apparently drugs like effexor or wellbutrin that work on two chemicals in the brain are "more serious" drugs with more side effects and have greater withdrawal symptoms (at least that is what I was told about effexor). Good luck, hope you feel better soon.

ps - if your anxiety symptoms are extreme (i.e. panic attack like) you may consider asking your doc for an anti-anxiety agent (klonopin). This is short term medication only prescribed where symptoms are somewhat extreme and specific.

Best,
Sara Beth
