As another poster already mentioned, there are no toxins in psilocybe mushrooms. They are safe in extremely large doses.
> Does this sound like a kosher prescription? Would I still possibly have toxins in my body two months after taking mushrooms that could be causing tinnitus?Sounds like a bunch of crap to me -- I'd seek a second opinion. Benzodiazepines are often helpful (Klonopin and Restoril seem to be those most often employed in treatment, usually Klonopin during the day and Restoril for sleep). Blood-thinning medication, like Coumadin, is also helpful.
There are ways to treat this yourself without any prescriptions -- aspirin is one of the most helpful methods of reducing tinnitus. And though I don't recall the reason for this, I read a while back that a non-alcoholic beer in the evening can reduce or eradicate the symptoms for days. Also quite helpful are herbal tranquilizers -- especially valerian root combined with passion flower. Kava kava, lemon balm, and skullcap can be equally effective. Hypnosis has proven a viable option as well. Finally, vitamin A is helpful for many -- just be sure to use the beta-carotene form only.
One more thing -- avoid CNS stimulants of any type: amphetamines, methylphenidate, caffeine, ephedrine, MSG, etc. These all tend to worsen symptoms.

Sounds likely -- any medical professional should know that psilocybe mushrooms are non-toxic.
