I read some information about treating blushing by ETC from the book Understanding Shyness, P. 221. Can anybody comment on it? Are there any side effects? Thanks a lot.
"Surgical treatment to blushing
"A more radical surgical treatment has recently been developed to reduce blushing and sweating. A short operation interrupts the sympathetic ganglion nerve in the chest and this affects sympathetic signals to the blood vessels in the face. The procedure is carried out under a general anaesthetic and involves a keyhole (endoscopic) surgical technique where two small incisions are made in the area of the armpit. The technical term for this procedure is endoscopic thoracic sympathicotomy (ETC). "
