Provigil could potentially improve your symptoms of anxiety by providing a general uplift in mood and increased energy, but I've only found that it actually gets rid of anxiety directly at very high doses (i.e. 1,000mg+), and that's only due to the resultant euphoria.
My advice would be to seek out a doctor who understands the nature of anxiety disorders and how debilitating they can be. I simply don't see why doctors insist on putting their patients through all this pain of medications that may or may not work, may not work well enough, and take several weeks to work *if* they're going to work at all. I mean, why should they put you through all that when they could simply give you a benzodiazepine and immediately (and drastically) improve your quality of life?
