In reply to Zoloft cause depression??, posted by kathlj on August 31, 2003, at 20:20:07
Hi, I've been on and off of meds since 1995, and I do know, from my experience, that sometimes it gets worse before it gets better, unfortunately. Have you tried Luvox or Effexor? Luvox works great for a lot of people who have OCD or even OCD tendencies, and so does Effexor. How is your relationship with your prescribing doctor in terms of being able to talk with him/her about how he/she can help you?
Good luck and please keep us posted:-)
> Hi. I have pretty severe panic/agoraphobia with some OCD. Haven't left my house in over a year except for two short trips that couldn't have been made without the help of Ativan. I was on imipramine for years. I stopped in order to get on the SSRI bandwagon in 1999 and it has been downhill ever since. I've just started Zoloft this past week and find that I am extremely depressed when taking it. I had the same problem with Paxil. Has anyone ever heard of this or is it just me? I've always wondered if my panic and anxiety were a "front" for depression as since I have educated myself I realize now that I had depression for almost a year before the panic started.
