> any ideas? comments?I also used to be proud of my low cholesterol (it was extremely low -- 110), then discovered the correlations with depression and cancer, both of which I had, or "have" in the case of depression. With time it has risen into the normal range, but it's still nowhere near high.
Some friends of mine have seen their cholesterol rise while on the Atkins diet (high fat and protein, low carbohydrate), but I don't think that's always the case.
If you do get it up, however, be sure not to let your homocysteine level rise with it. B6, B12, folic acid, trimethylglycine and SAM-e help lower homocysteine -- as well as alleviate depression for some people.
