Good question. I've been on Wellbutrin for about 7 years. It usually controls my depression well, but it does nothing for my anxiety. I've had panic attacks in the past, but mostly I've been dealing with generalized anxiety. I've tried the following meds in addition to Wellbutrin in order to control anxiety:
*Paxil - didn't do anything for my anxiety, sexual side effects
*Prozac - did nothing for anxiety
*imipramine - partially controlled anxiety, stayed on this med for over a year, persistant high blood levels even with low dose, went off of it because it gave me dry mouth and I was getting braces
*Serzone - partially controlled anxiety, no side effects after the initial break-in period, went off of it because I was getting refractive eye surgery and thought it may be causing my tear test scores to be low (it turned out not to be the culprit)
*Effexor - wonderful medication for a while after the initial break-in period, but caused intolerable insomnia and daytime fatigue. Just went off this med two days ago.I'm looking for something else to add to Wellbutrin now and I'm interested in seeing what others have to say about what works for them.
