Over two years ago I was put on celexa (for a short time )to help with stomach problems from eating too much chocolate (bad diet) and minimal work stress .( i know it sounds ridiculous but it's true) Then sent by my Dr to a detox to withdrawl from bad effects of the celexa. then in detox they slipped up (medical mistake) and gave me phenobarbital and paxil. While on paxil and afterwards came intense suicidal feelings, hatred for people I previously loved, etc. All sorts of intense aweful feelings I never had before (Ever!) along with permanent muscle rigidity throughout whole body..
The worst part of this is that two years later I had lost my peripheral vision due to their medical mistake, and the vision never came back 28 months later. Along with those aweful violent feelings. I've tried everything. Yoga, therapy, different doctors, etc.... they think that what happened was a rare drug reaction to meds and that it has now cause permanent neuronal misfiring. My only hope now is that people make informed decisions and research their meds before taking them, instead of going along with anything a physician says. (in my case a physician's asst. made the mistake). If meds work for you, good for you. But I believe there is too much unnecessary suffering just so pharmacuetical companies can keep their stock looking pretty. i'm entitled to this opinion after all my suffering.
