I have no idea about hearing loss solutions, but I do have an eczema solution. I started out (when I was a young boy) with eczema just on my arms, and over the past several years it has spread to the back of my knees, my stomach below the navel, both of my feet, the area between my ankle and knees on both legs and, worst of all several of my fingers (which was particularly aweful b/c they would crack and bleed in winter weather).
But over the past year I found a solution that has cleared up my eczema entirely (except for the permanent scarring), that means no breakouts at all and no itching at all for the first time in my life. I have also lost 50lbs+ (I was overweight) and my acne has cleared up.
I went on a low-carb diet (as in Atkins or Protein Power). I know this creates a visceral negative reaction in many who would warn against cholesterol elevation, etc. but since I started the diet, my total cholesterol has dropped by over 30 points, my ratio of good to bad cholesterol has improved and my triglycerides have dropped by 2/3. I am not trying to sell you on this, just trying to allay some concerns should you have any.
But I don't think that your wife would actually need to do a full-on low-carb diet to achieve the eczema remission that I have experienced. I think that cutting out ALL sugars (including the lactose from milk) and ALL grains (wheat, rice, etc.) might do the trick. In other words, she wouldn't have to limit vegetable intake at all (though it may be wise to curtail some fruit consumption b/c of sugars) as do those on a low-carb diet.
If you are at all interested in this, I would be happy to give more advice. Anyway, if her eczema is as bad as mine was, it may just be worth a try.
