I've been reading up on different avenues of depression research (drugs outside the monoamine affective families), and have been interested in memantine, a drug used to treat dementia via glutamate antagonism. Since memory problems have been a major problem for me, it seemed of interest.
Anyway, the government is evidently planning a trial of memantine's efficacy as an antidepressant. If you live in the Maryland area, it might be worth a try...
