I totally agree with you. I know from experience that you have to be well for yourself before anyone else. You have to be happy for you, not him. If you are constantly worried about what he will think, then you are fighting a dead end battle. Do this for yourself, no one else. Your significant other should make you a better person than you already are...he should not cause you heartache, ever.
