Hypothyroidism seems to run in my family. At my aunt's urging, I had my TSH tested a few years ago, and it was just above the normal range. Doc put me on Levoxyl, got the numbers in the normal range.
Last year I was starting to feel more depressed, and after doing some reading and considering other augmentation strategies (I'm on Wellbutrin), I asked my GP for Cytomel. We added 25mcg/day split into two doses, and it really picked me up. Still haven't lost any weight, but my energy level improved a great deal on Cytomel.
At this point I'm on 125mcg Levoxyl + 25mcg Cytomel. TSH is basically undetectable, but my doc said as long as the free T3 and free T4 are in the normal range and I'm feeling good, that's OK.
