Long Term Success with Lamictal????

Posted by Geezer on May 17, 2003, at 21:40:33

Has anyone had any long term success with Lamictal plus a small amount of an SSRI. Prozac worked wonders for me for 18 months but pooped out about three years ago. Apparently the pdocs now believe I have some sort of Bipolar Disorder (although they don't seem to know what kind...but it is not Bipolar one). After 30 years of treatment for for recurrent unipolar depression this is a shift in treatment for me. I am currently taking 300mg. Lamictal, 15mg. Prozac and 1.5 Klonopin (had 11 ECT treatments about four months ago - to no avail). I have been following recent threads on Lamictal but in general the anacdotal evidence seems the benefits from Lamictal are short lived. I am feeling some better on Lamictal but not nearly as good as Prozac. Many people on pbabble complain about "Emotial Blunting" with SSRIs, for me that was one of the best benfits. Any comments are welcome and thank you in advance.
