I just wanted to wish you luck with Effexor and hope that things continue to get better for you. I've been on Effexor XR for three weeks (75 mg for 6 days and then 150 mg) and have just started to feel positive effects from it. I'm feeling much happier, more sociable, and a little less anxiety. I hope this continues. I've been on Wellbutrin for seven years and have tried imipramine, Paxil, Prozac, and Serzone to alleviate anxiety, but none has worked as well as I'd like. I've also been in therapy for two years, but that hasn't made much of a dent in the anxiety either. My first day on Effexor was a nightmare - severe anxiety, sweating, headaches, and nausea. I had to take more Ativan than I'm used to in order to offset the anxiety and ended up sleeping all day. I called in sick that day. The nausea stuck around for over a week, but now my only side effect is insomnia, which I can deal with.

Hope your drowsiness and disorientation go away.

> I've been on Effexor for 14 days. 75 mg the first 7 days and now 150 mg. per day to control general anxiety and depression? It definately has made a difference already in the anxiety. But I always feel DISORIENTED and EXTREMELY DISCONNECTED AND DROWSY when I wake up and after taking my morning dose. Does this go away with time? Would appreciate any comments and positive feedback.
