7 years? Did she suffer any long-term s/effects and how was her withdrawal. I would really love to know as I'm contemplating this med. Thanks so much,> Know that if the Risperdal is not working for you or you do get really bothersome side effects from it there are always other ones to try. Most of your newer anti-psychotic meds do not give one the many side effects that the older ones did. So you should be ok with Risperdal it is one of the newer classes of anti-psychotics. However there are even newer ones than Risperdal. So keeping this in mind give the Risperdal a try and like I said if it does not work for you there are even newer ones you may try. Good luck.
