Here is an article that discusses the interaction between DHEA and cortisol. It was posted previously by JLx. I'll re-post it here in hopes that it may begin the process of reducing your skepticism toward the idea that nutritional supplements might play at least a minor role in the treatment of psychiatric disorders.

As I understand it, the brain is continually in the process of renewing and repairing itself. Therefore, once an insult is abated, improvement can result.
