Yes, depending on the med itself.

For instance, fish oil seemed to help the
compulsive feelings, but not the obsessions
themselves. St. Johns wort helped the compulsive
aspect but again, not the obsessions.

Serotonin by itself helps to controll the
compulsive feelings but no the obsessions.
But - ssri's also tend to lower dopamine
over time. This is why they are effective
for OCD cause they raise Serotonin and lower
dopamine.

So yes, I would personally avoid dopamine
enhancing meds, unless you think this chemical
has become unusually low for you.
