Coming off Klonopin (Clonazepam)

Posted by cubbybear on April 1, 2003, at 11:48:50

I'm now doing well on Parnate for depression and anxiety and so my pdoc and I have agreed to slowly taper off the Klonopin, which I've been on since last July to help me sleep. I was on 3.75 mg/day and am decreasing it by .25 mg every 7 days. So, for the last week I've been on 3.25 and will go to 3.0 mg. on Wed. I've had no problems so far. .Does this tapering schedule (decrease .25 mg/per week) sound pretty "standard"? Since I've had no problems so far, do you think I could go down a little faster, i.e.maybe .5 mg. every week? Or is that asking for trouble? I won't be seeing my pdoc for 9 more days, so I thought I'd sound you guys out first.
