OH, I stopped the Trileptal because the nausea wouldn't resolve and I felt that I needed to be taking around 300mg or more to get a decent benefit from the med. Other side effects... mainly blurred vision. It was so bad that I had trouble reading road signs. I had some cognitively dulling, but nothing as bad as Gabitril or Topamax, and no worse than lithium. The good part was that it clearly helped with my seasonal depression. My cycling was noticeably dampened down by it. It also helped with my temper but nowhere as good as Depakote (but if I could tolerate 300mg+ of it-it may have been just as good who knows?). I am on Depakote, Klonopin, Wellbutrin, with fishoil and occasional tyrosine supps. The Trileptal was an add to Depakote, then I dropped the Depakote to be certain that my nausea wasn't the combo, but unfortunately it was just the Trileptal, so I am back on Depakote now. The Celexa add might worsen your nausea, so you might ask your doc about a low dose, or bring up the concern about it doing so and see what they think.

When I went to 225mg-300mg the nausea got quite severe. This was my 2nd trial of it and this time I stayed on for about two months and it still didn't fade. That doesn't mean that the nausea wouldn't fade for you however. I'm on Wellbutrin and when I start it, I always get real nauseous, but it does fade. Your nausea could be dose-related-what dose are you taking, and what other meds are you taking with it?

But tonight was nasty. I had major nausea with (excuse me here) diarrhea, and noticed a headache for the last few hours. Has anyone experienced this with Trileptal?
