> If you haven't already, have you tried a benzodiazepine (Klonopin, Xanax, etc.)? These are often the best meds for anxiety, and generally lack the side effects of the various ADs. Of course, a lot of doctors won't prescribe them for silly reasons, but I'd try this class of drugs before spending a lot of time on ADs, if anxiety is the main problem.
hi,
i understand why you say this, but i have to disgree with you (no offence intended). when my anxiety started it was so bad that i self-prescribed myself xanax and valium - it was over a christmas period and i couldnt get to see a doctor.anyway, long story short, i became VERY addicted to benzos after 2 months. i have never experienced pain like trying to come off benzos with rebound anxiety ontop of my acute anxiety. i tried suicide 2/3 times and was in and out of hospital over a period of 6 months. never again.
i have taken a small amount of valium on a very few occasions, and even 1 tablet gives me rebound anxiety 3-4 days later...
benzo's suck. they are very dangerous.
jsut, to go back to the thread, i am four days into remeron and am coming off citalopram. my sexual functionality has returned nearly 100% - life is wonderful again... ;-)
i just hope this new combo keeps the illness away too. its still to early to tell (4 weeks on serzone (600mg), 4 days of remeron (30mg). still taking 20mg citalopram and will cut this out in the next week.
any more opinions please? i would like to hear from anyone who has tried the serzone/remeron combo together.##
thanks for the posts
