I used Nardil and Tegretol for years, did great. Mixing other ADs with an MAOI is a really bad idea unless you're a total basket case and have a really good psychopharmacologist handling it.
That is not exactly true, MissLiz. Trazodone for example is 100% safe with Nardil and is a good augmentation strategy for OCD, or insomnia.
NEVER mix an MAOI with an SSRI, it does a pan fry thing to your brain.
> Exercise, like training in a weight room or cycling is great to goose up your meds. And you may just need more drug or more time. Antipsychotics get pushed like crazy on this board, I think they're overused. If you aren't psychotic, you don't need an antipsychotic.Once again I don't agree. I'm not too keen on the older neuroleptics but the atypicals can be definately appropriate for refactory cases. Zyprexa for example is very very goos, and extrapyramidal s/effects are rare if used cautiously.
Maois can really bring out anxiety,
I STRONGLY disagree. They might in early stages but they usually quell after onset of action has begun.
and benzos are the appropriate drug for that. Or maybe it's just that Nardil lets you out of the box and one gets anxious from risky behavior like going out and being normal.
> So what's the problem, anyway? We can't tell you what you want to know if you don't give us the detailsI jsut want to know of any future augmentation strategies if I need it in the future.
Thanks.
