Hi calaway,
I'm so sorry that you have given up the childrens home activity. Although you obviously felt it was the better decision for you. Without meaning to sound patronising, I think it is great that you achieved that enterprise.
I certainly wouldn't want to assume that your anxiety is related to taking the Effexor XL, but when I took this drug I certainly had a level of anxiety which neither existed prior to taking it, or after stopping it. I found my daily life achievements much undermined during this period.
I accept that I may have had enhancement of an existing anxiety level while taking it, but life certainly became more settled when I stopped it.
It did make a degree of improvement in my mood level, but this was so defeated by the anxiety level that it just wasn't worth persevering with.
The reduction period towards withdrawl was grim too.
I accept that many people have a more positive experience while using effexor XL.
