In reply to Lexapro withdrawal symptoms, posted by Jenn252 on November 26, 2002, at 17:15:39
> I had been taking Lexapro for 2 months. I then decided to quit taking it. My doctor never warned me of the horrible side effects i have been feeling for over 2 weeks now. They started one week after I stopped taking Lexapro. I searched for withdrawal symptoms from Lexapro and couldn't find anything but looked up Celexa instead. I was having the same side effects, dizziness, faint feeling, headaches, brain zaps, irratibility, emotional etc. This has been a HORRIBLE past few weeks. It is now starting the 3rd week and the dizziness is fading but i still get dizzy sometimes. Also i have incredible headaches which bring on slight nausea. I also still have occassional brain zaps where it feels like electric shocks through my head.

All ssri's have withdrawal symptoms. Did you quite cold turkey? The best way to get the stuff out of your body is with an Amino Acid booster. You can find these at most health stores or pharmacy. I am currently taking CountryLife Max Amino Caps. It has all the stuff to help you flush your system. I'm taking it to get Paxil out of my system. It has helped with the symptoms. Good luck.
