> Wow, you are stopping three drugs simultaneously and starting a different one? The Zyprexa and possibly the clonazepam could have been *causing* your concentration problems. Being able to concentrate doesn't imply you will be necessarily *content* :). I doubt if Ritalin would give you anything that will distract you much from your immediate tasks. Do you think it would be possible to just go med free for a while and see if your attention probs were med-induced before you try to fix something that may not have been broken w/o meds in the first place? Just some thoughts....
>no i meant i was stopping the parnate (as it's contraindicated with stimulant medication) and without the mild stimulation from parnate you really feel the sedation of zyprexa and klonopin
i have absolutely definately had concentration problems before zyprexa and klonazepam, in fact, before i ever took a psychiatric medication at all
for me it was like -- be top of the class, work my butt off for the best possible education, then all of a sudden all my friends (even bipolar!) find work easier than school while i find work, sitting still for 8 hours, utterly unbearable...
i used to think that was some kind of hypomania making me want to get up and do things.. or depression making me think negative things about work...
but the more i think about it... and my doctor is *certain* as well that the ADD is a disorder all it's own ...
in fact, not being able to work and being broke while people who were clueless in school ended up making $60k is probably the major cause of my depression and subsequent maniai mean trying sooooo hard to concentrate when you just can't eventually burns you out -- causes depression
this has been my experience anyway
well it was more like hyper-concentration for me (with great effort) mixed with total lack of concentration ... and the hyper concentration burned me out plus it didn't look good at work when i spent half of my time unproductive ... Ugggg
i'm looking for some positive feedback to help me through the next 10 days till i try ritalin ...
10 days to go!
