risperdal vs. neurontin

My 14 year old step daughter has been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. She is currently taking 150mg Zoloft and 1mg Risperdal per day for depression, anger and anxiety. She experiences mood swings (rages mostly) when things do not go her way. She does not have any "true" psychotic symptoms.

She was just admitted as an inpatient at a different hospital, and the new psychiatrist is recommending changing the Risperdal to Neurontin or Trileptal.

Does anyone have any thoughts, or experiences with this change?
