I Feel Sick: Is It The Celexa?

Posted by Roman on October 14, 2002, at 14:43:56

I've been taking Celexa for about 5 weeks. First 5 days @ 5 mg, next 2 weeks @ 10 mg, and last 2 weeks @ 20 mg. Sides during this time were not too bad: daytime tiredness, dizziness, some sleep disturbance, thirsty, pounding heart, night sweats--fairly tolerable.

2 days ago, I felt like I was getting the flu: bad headache, nausea, very dizzy, heat flushes w/sweating. Generally felt ill. So I skipped yesterday's dose--felt better but still a little under the weather all day yesterday. Woke up this morning feeling okay (not perfect however) and decided to take 10 mg. I'm feeling somewhat worse now (late afternoon), but not as bad as I was the other night.

I can't figure out if it's the Celexa, the flu, or a touch of a bug that is worsened by the Celexa. I don't want to play around with my dosing, but maybe I'm taking too much? If it is Celexa's fault, it's odd that it took so long to hit me, I was fine at 20 mg for 2 weeks--weird.

Anyone out there have similar experiences?
