Hi Jet Meck.

> I see double when taking Ambien; Why is this happening.

I haven't investigated the side-effect profile of Ambien well enough to answer your question.

Do you continue to see double all day long?

Maybe you can try some of the following strategies:

1. Reduce dosage

2. Switch to another medication

3. If hard to fall asleep:
a. Sonata (short-acting)

4. If hard to stay asleep:
b. Ativan (medium-acting)
c. Restoril (medium-acting)

5. If hard to get to sleep and stay asleep:
a. Combine Sonata + Ativan
b. Combine Sonata + Restoril

6. Alternatives:
a. Short-acting: Halcion
b. Long-acting: trazodone
c. Extra-long-acting: Klonopin
d. Neurontin

Just a few ideas. I like Ativan.

Good luck.
