i'm 38 yrs old and was put on zoloft (200mgs/day) approx. 4 yrs ago for severe ocd. after about 6 weeks, the automatic thoughts began to subside and within months i went from an anorexic vegan, to a healthy (approaching chubby) mild mannered individual...after a year, i decided i was getting too sluggish so my pdoc swithced me to prozac. i blew the transition taper off from zoloft thingking the 2 ssri's were similar and experienced about a week or so of rage, suicidal ideation and sleeplessness; a week later i was okay and a month after that i was 12 lbs heavier. in the year or so following, i played with celexa which dealt with the ocd marginally but had the least side effects...but i'm back to zoloft now (200mgs/day) for about 6 months. i'm currently undergoing cognitive behavioral therapy to deal with my ocd and am weaning off zoloft (a bit too fast 200mgs-->100mgs (4 days)--> 50 mgs (4 days)--> 25 mgs (4 days so far)...but it's my choice) with all the wonderful side effects (detached limbs, electric fuzzy head, and of course, the almost instantaneous return of my ocd) all of these i expected except one; in the past 12 days i've gained nearly 10 lbs! ouch! i'm just wondering: has anyone out there patient enough to read through this drivel had a similar experience? my docs are full of textbook info but nothing terribly useful...thanks and sorry for my verbosity (1st time post).
