I am desperate for any new information I can get on Nardil. I have been off of it for 2 years and just started back on it a couple days ago. My life has not been the same since I stopped it, and none of the "new" drugs worked. I also take clonopin. I think I suffer from Atypical depression. The reason I went off of it was I had heard that it can eventually damage your kidneys, (and I have a horseshoe kidney.) Does anyone know if this is true? My doctor put me on it because she agreed the benefits outweigh the risks, and right now I am severely depressed, as much as I have ever been. Also, how fast can I increase the dose? She wanted me to take 15 mg. a day the first week and then 30 the second, etc. Why are doctors (at least in my neck of the woods) so afraid of this drug? This seems like a small dose and it might take a lot longer to start working. When I took it the last time I was taking at least 45mg a day and I got to a point where I could monitor my own dose and increase and decrease it when I needed to. I have had some bad experiences on Nardil in the past (not my doing, but doctor's for prescribing the wrong combinations, even after I told them what I was taking) And suggestions from anyone out there would be appreciated.
