In reply to Reboxetine -- Anyone?, posted by BekkaH on July 13, 2002, at 0:23:44
I used it for only 3 days because I experienced the urinary retention side effect, which is often reported by users. Aside from that, I liked its effects. I could literally feel an "adrenaline rush" in the back of my head, above my neck. That part of my head usually feels empty (although Remeron increases activity there a little bit), so the feeling of increased activity really allowed me to expand my cognitive abilities.
For me, Reboxetine was more effective than Paxil and Prozac, both which felt like placebo except for their adverse effects. I think this was the case because I usually don't respond to serotonin increasing med's.
The other day I was looking at some mainstream news site for something else when I glanced at an article which was about a "new" ADD/ADHD med that is expected to be used in the US in the near future. It was Atomoxetine (sp?). Something to that effect. I have not read anything noting that Reboxetine will be available in the US anytime in the near future.
