I am currently taking Remeron and like you was experiencing shortness of breath that seemed to subside with activity. I was given Remeron 5 years ago and took it for a year (15 mg) along with 30mg of Prozac. I discontinued Remeron for weight gain reasons but no breathing problems, and stayed with Prozac.
About two months ago, I relapsed and my doctor put me back on Remeron, but this time, 30mg to minimize the weight gain side effects. The shortness of breath has been unbearable at times.
When I lie down, I have to sit up to catch my breath. He also added topamax to sort of speed things up, but the shortness of breath got worst.
I haven't called my doctor about this, but I don't remember having this problem the first time around with 15mg of Remeron, so I lowered my dosage. After doing this, my breathing has gotten much better.
If you call your doctor about this let me know what he says and I will keep you posted of what mine says when I see him in two weeks.

Deli;)
