Nothing to dread. Lipomas are right under the skin, easily removed, dr. just totally numbs the area. Ask for a well-done scar!. I had an ordinary md remove mine (on shoulder) and he did a botch-y scar, what did he care.
It only took a few minutes, BTW, and then I went home. No biggie.
